The Ryzen 9000 series (Zen 5) improves IPC by roughly 10-15% over Ryzen 7000 in productivity workloads, but gaming differences are often within margin of error — especially with a 3D V-Cache chip like the 7800X3D or 9800X3D.
If you already own a Ryzen 7000 CPU, skip the upgrade. If you are buying new, the 9600X and 9700X are excellent value at similar price points to last gen.
